Factur-X invoice generator

Fill in the form and download a Factur-X invoice: an ordinary PDF that carries the invoice data as XML (EN 16931, the same standard as ZUGFeRD 2).

In France, a file alone isn’t enough.

Invoices covered by the French reform must be submitted through an approved platform (plateforme agréée), which sends them on. Emailing the PDF doesn’t meet the obligation, even when the file is a valid Factur-X. Large and mid-sized companies have issued this way since 1 September 2026; small businesses start on 1 September 2027. This page makes the file you submit. It doesn’t yet fill in the French additions (SIREN as a declared identifier, category of operation, VAT on debits, delivery address), so ask your platform whether it adds them. Details in the France guide.

What you get, and what you don’t

  • The file: a PDF/A-3 you can open like any PDF, with the invoice data embedded as EN 16931 XML (Factur-X 1.0, which is ZUGFeRD 2.x in the EN16931 profile). Our tests check the file with the open-source validator Mustang, and we publish a run with its report.
  • Germany: from 1 January 2027, businesses with more than €800,000 turnover the year before must send e-invoices to other businesses in Germany; from 1 January 2028, all businesses, with a few exceptions. Sending the file by email is fine. See the Germany guide.
  • Small businesses under § 19 UStG: you never have to send e-invoices; your invoices may always be ordinary ones (§ 34a UStDV). You may send an e-invoice if your customer agrees. Tick the box in the form and you get both choices. Inside the file we mark § 19 invoices as exempt from VAT (category E) with the § 19 note as the reason. No official text says how to code it, so that is our reading of the EN 16931 standard; the validator accepts it.
  • France: the file has to go through your approved platform. See the France guide.
  • What we don’t do: pagenull doesn’t send the invoice, receive invoices or archive them, and it doesn’t make XRechnung or UBL files. Keep every invoice yourself for the years the law requires: we store nothing, so we can’t give you a copy later.
  • Price: the preview is free. Each download counts as one render on your pagenull account, and the free plan has 100 a month.

Developers can make the same file from JSON with the API: see the Factur-X and ZUGFeRD guide.
